Google Launches News Publisher Center for Publishers

Google have launched ‘News Publisher Center’ for publishers on Monday. It is to facilitate publishers to reach their potential readers with organized articles on the Google News network.

Google wants to help the news publishers get their content found on the news feed. Regarding the launch, Eric Weigle, Software Engineer of Google posts about the newly launched website in Webmaster Central Blog and Google News Blog.

He says, “If you're a news publisher, your website has probably evolved and changed over time -- just like your stories. But in the past, when you made changes to the structure of your site, we might not have discovered your new content. That meant a lost opportunity for your readers, and for you. Unless you regularly checked Webmaster Tools, you might not even have realized that your new content wasn’t showing up in Google News. To prevent this from happening, we are letting you make changes to our record of your news site using the just launched Google News Publisher Center.”

Using the site, you can change your news site details and sections along with the labels. Check if your site is visible in Google News pages, if not, you can apply for a new listing of your site.

To check your site’s visibility in Google News, Go to Google News home page and type site:yoursite.com and hit ‘Enter’. If Google is already taking updates from your site, they will be shown, if not, it shows a message saying that ‘the search did not match any results like as shown in screenshot below.

The tool is currently available for U.S. publishers only and is likely to come to other countries also very soon. It seems Google is trying its best to give the best results to the reader.

Good luck Google! AmfasTech will always be with you!
