Nokia Lumia 630 Full Technical Review: Everything is good but RAM sucks

Microsoft releases the first ever dual SIM windows phone, Lumia 630 into the market earlier this week. The phone is released in both single SIM and dual SIM versions with a price tag of Rs.10,500 and Rs.11,500 respectively. The device looks promising with 4.5 inch screen and 5MP camera along with the Nokia durability.

Nokia Lumia 630 continues its Lumia series flagship with this device also and so the phone is made available in radium Green, Yellow, Black and White colors.

The device looks great but the price looks aggressive when compared to the Moto E which was also released recently at the price of Rs.6,999 in India. Lumia 630 seems have got nothing new except the 4.5 inch screen and dual SIM feature. The price tag weighs more for its low rated specifications.

Performance

Processor

The Quad Core Snapdragon 400 processor servers tasks better and faster but of no use it seems when looked at the RAM specified with this device. Nokia Lumia 630 comes with 512 MB RAM which is lot less for the price range of devices that are entering into market this year.

RAM

The 1.2GHz processor may not give its best performance with the 512 RAM on multi-tasking. The device is equipped with Windows 8.1, the latest operating system of Windows phones.

Typing

This phone comes with the fast typing feature. You can actually type the word without lifting off your fingers from the screen. Windows 8.1 allows you to set a custom background of your own on the back of the tiles.
  • Processor name: Snapdragon 400
  • Processor type: Quad-core 1.2GHz
  • RAM: 512 MB

Playback Media

Lumia 630 can supports MP3, WMA, AAC, M4A, AMR, ASF audio and M4V, 3G2, 3GP, AVI, MP4, MOV, WMV, HD video formats. It has Integrated Hands-free Speakers, Noise Cancellation and Music Apps like Nokia MixRadio, Xbox Music, DRM Support: PlayReady, Album Graphics Display in Music Player, Cloud Music Offline Playback, Cloud Music Playback, Podcasts.

The conventional FM radio is a highlighted feature of this phone.

Performance Rating: Everything is Good but RAM sucks

Memory

Lumia 630 comes with 8GB internal storage and supported expandability of 128GB through MicroSD cards. This budget Lumia series phone claims to be giving free cloud storage of 7GB memory which is probably through the OneDrive application.

  • RAM: 512 MB
  • Mass memory: 8 GB

One last word

Nokia Lumia 630 should have introduced a year ago. The lame features it comes with along with no possibilities of getting the best from the new ones is really disappointing. latest Android series phones like Moto G and Moto E are already stood up first for a price revolution with amazing specs. May be the Microsoft have to learn more in handset manufacturing industry yet.
