Review: What's New in Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge?

New boys in the town! Samsung has announced its next Galaxy variant, S6 with two new faces. The new high-end smartphone comes with new enhanced features and specifications pulling down curtains for the whole new era of technology for Samsung lovers.

Let’s take a look at the features of the new Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge:

Redefined design

Samsung has been adaptively changing the design for every new Galaxy S variant since from the beginning. This time it seems like has adapted the curved metal bezel in its design from iPhone 6.

The new Galaxy S6 looks thinner than its predecessor version Galaxy S5. Samsung claims that this device is the most redefined and revolutionary among all the Galaxy variants. We can’t say that by looking just at the non-edged version of S6.

It seems true when we take a look at the second face of it, Galaxy S6 Edge. Edge version of this device opens the door for a new generation of smartphones with a redefined set of benchmarks.

Unlike Galaxy Note Edge, S6 Edge comes with dual edged screen making it the most revolutionary device for Samsung yet. The metal bezel for this phone thins down along with the edges as the curved screen occupies the rest of the thickness space.

Quad HD display

The new Samsung S6 and S6 Edge comes with Quad HD Super AMOLED display on 5.1 inch screen that can render 577 PPI with 2560x1440 resolution picture quality.

That gives lot more quality display than an iPhone. IPhone 6’s 4.7 inch display can only render 326 PPI with 1334x750 and its 5.5 inch display can render 401 PPI with 1920x1080 resolution.

Seems like iPhone 6 has got someone of its own size to compete against, finally.

HDR pictures and 4K videos

The 16MP camera is built responsive and it activates in 0.7 seconds faster, saving your time while taking pictures. The real-time HDR feature takes care of lightening conditions automatically, while taking pictures.

Both S6 and S6 Edge has 5MP, 1200 wide angle lens front camera for taking HQ selfies that will not cut down your buddies from group selfies.

Also, the rear camera is capable of recording 4K HD videos as well. 4K HD recording may not be the new feature, but has to wait and see till the device get into hands of an user.

Powerful 64-bit processor

Samsung embeds a powerful 64-bit Exynos processor in new Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge that can execute the tasks in lightening speed with the help of 3GB RAM.

Multi-tasking will be more smoother with 64-bit processor, 3GB RAM and Android 5.0 Lollipop like never before.

Faster charging battery

Charging is made wireless for S6 and S6 Edge. Samsung Galaxy S6 has support for both Qi and PMA wireless charging and USB charging that is 1.5 times more faster than that of Galaxy S5’s.

Trimmed software features

Samsung trims the software features to almost half of what Galaxy S5 had, making it simpler and giving a hassle-free experience for the user. It will not affect the newer version of Android Lollipop 5.0’s smooth task-execution experience.

Redefined features

Non-removable battery – It seems like the battery is no more removable on Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge unlike its predecessors.

No SD card slots – The design shows no visual of having the microSD card slots even.

No waterproof – Samsung hasn’t talked about the waterproof feature of S6 anywhere else. This superpower might have been taken off of it.

Biosensors – The home button comes with a fingerprint and the rear camera possibly with a heart rate sensor.

Over to you

Samsung makes the paradox of a curved screen real, but not in the way it thought to be. Anyhow, this opens a new door in the smartphone evolution.

The enhanced features and new looks of Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge might give nightmares to Apple iPhone 6 and 6 plus.
