Planning to Buy a Phone? Read this to Choose the Right One

Most of us have a smartphone, right? Can you imagine a day without smartphone?? Oops!! No, we can't. It became an integral part of our lives. Being very handy, we love it. We can read mails, play games, chat with friends and even publish blog posts from it.

Do you know?? My friend Sid from Techbii is a mobile blogger!

So choosing a mobile phone is an important task. We have to take enough care to select an apt one.

Sometimes after spending our hard-earned bucks, we feel that the phone is not right for us. What to do?? Nothing else than sacrifice our needs.

Hence I come up with this post. Our phone must be the perfect companion for us. It has to satisfy our needs. Choosing a phone sometime becomes complicated than selecting a right friend.

So when you plan to buy a phone, ponder the following points.

1. Budget

The foremost consideration is the budget. We have to take a phone within the money in our hand. Everyone can't afford an iPhone as it is expensive.

Don't dream a phone over your budget. This is the most wanted tip. Dream about one which we can afford.

At first make a round-up budget, such as 10K or 15k. After setting up the budget, we can have look at the phones in market under this price limit.

Sometime we have to spend extra 1k to bag a superb phone. So keeping some extra bucks in your wallet before purchase is a great idea.

Out of extra bucks?? Then don't rush my friend, but wait. After a month or two, the price will go down.

2. Purpose

Know the purpose of having a phone. That is the second step.

We may buy a phone for calling and messaging only. It is a foolishness to buy an iPhone for this simple tasks.

We can purchase a smartphone if you are a crazy gamer. It is impossible to sit in front of computer every time. So having a smartphone gives us the same experience of HD gaming as in PC.

Sometimes we want a phone for purely official tasks, like calling, messaging, net surfing, emailing at the same time some office working (in office apps). So here we need a phone which is great for multi tasking.

Every phone can't be used for every purpose. Thus know why you want one.

3. Platform

Another thing to think is mobile platform or mobile OS. Computer users are aware of the term OS, it is a group of programs which makes the system live in track.

Similarly phones have Operating Systems. Android, iOS and Windows are the top in the list.

Before choosing a platform, just experience each of them, from your friends or relatives. It will help you to have an over view about each of them.

I suggest you to relate this point with the #2.

If you want fun like gaming, videos etc. , then you should opt for Android. Are you a serious multi-taskie? Then iPhone won't let you down. Office apps are superbly optimized with Windows OS.

So having a purpose helps us here. That is why I told you to do so.

4. Processor

There is no need to introduce a processor. Everyone knows the importance of it as of our brain.

Variants are there for processors also. The main types are dual, quad and octa cores. Greater the number of cores more is the multi tasking ability.

But there is a myth that octa-core processor is the rabbit among all others. This is not true. A better processor with high-end hardware makes the phone a rocket. So be sure about the processor of the phone you are going to buy.

5. Camera

This point is also related with your purpose.

You are going to buy a phone for official purpose only, this factor doesn't make sense.

But you have real passion for photography, considering this will help you love your phone.

If you are a selfie-addict, then select a phone with high-end front camera. Have a look at the availability of LED flash too.

Most of the phones offer digital zoom, which provides low quality on zooming. But some phones like Nokia Lumia 1020 offer optical zooming. It will not loss quality even after zooming. So be aware of this feature also, if phone camera matters to you.

Most popular myth about smartphones is related to its camera. It is believed that quality of the picture increases with increase in Mega Pixels (MP)!! Don't believe this my friend.

Then how can we choose a phone with perfect camera?? Read on #8. (Actually branded phones won't let you down with a camera having higher MPs. Beware of the small brands come with more MP camera).

6. RAM

I remember my school IT class where I repeated this; RAM- Random Access Memory is the temporary memory of computer.

You may know more than that. Anyway all unsaved and live tasks run on RAM.
Many a time I feel like crashing my phone because of its laziness. This is because of a low-end RAM.

Having more RAM is very important.

Today phones with 1-3 GB RAM are available. Some days before one of my friends told me that he is not satisfied with his phone's 2 GB RAM. Imagine my PC has only 2 GB RAM (I didn't say this to him, Lol).

So serious smartphone users need more RAM for a smooth performance.

7. Additional Features

This includes screen size, battery capacity, weight, OS version, connectivity options as well as GPU.

I prefer a phone with medium display. You may have different options. Keep in mind to know your purpose, and then select screen size.

We all opt for more battery capacity and for light weight. Try to grab a phone with latest OS version; it will help you to overcome all security vulnerabilities along with rich features.

Select phones with connectivity options like 3G, 4G, NFC etc. GPU stands for Graphic Processing Unit. It enhances the visual comfort of our device.

Many features are also there like internal memory, SD card support, etc. Know the feature according to your purpose.

8. If Possible, Have a Hands-on Experience

Most of the reviews we see on Web are sponsored. Mobile companies give money to write good about them. The posts written by that method are called sponsored reviews or sponsored posts.

So don't believe it blindly. Instead try to have a hands-on experience with the phone you are going to buy. May be your friend has one, or your relative, even your neighbour.

Try to see video reviews than text versions. Videos are reliable than articles. So these are the points to ponder before ordering a smartphone.

Over to You

Consider your budget and know your purpose. Then have an over-view about the features you want. Try to experience the one you want to buy with your fingers.

After doing all this, we get a clear idea about the most suitable phone for us.

Did I miss any point? Let me know by comments.
