Everyone's Favorite GBWhatsApp Shutsdown Officially

Since WhatsApp gained popularity over instant messaging applications, the third-party developers, possibly those users of official WhatsApp application that lacked many features, have built a replica of WhatsApp with advanced features like UI customization, advanced privacy options like hiding the online status and so on.

One of the first third-party applications, WhatsApp+ was the primary 3rd party app to get banned. Later, the developers joined hands together to develop GBWhatsApp, a new third-party app.

After WhatsApp updated its privacy policies, it directly targetted GBWhatsApp by temporarily banning the GBWhatsApp users. It, however, allowed them to backup the chats.

This is what the FAQs page on WhatsApp site says,

Unsupported apps, such as WhatsApp Plus, GB WhatsApp, or apps that claim to move your WhatsApp chats between phones, are altered versions of WhatsApp. These unofficial apps are developed by third parties and violate our Terms of Service. WhatsApp doesn't support these third-party apps because we can't validate their security practices.

The interesting thing is, GBWhatsApp developers have released an anti-ban application on June 20th, 2019. Everyone was surprised to see the shutdown notice in GBWhatsApp's official telegram channel lately.

We are really sorry to announce that we have completely stopped the development of GBWhatsApp.
It was a great time with all you people.
Sorry for the inconvenience. Hence we have Closed all the Site, Social Accounts, and Everything.
There will be no further development. - GBWhatsApp Developers Team

As this confirms the death of GBWhatsApp, we suggest you switch to the official app which packs better security over third-party apps. Hoping that WhatsApp would bring real useful features faster as the same is possible for a small team with GBW.

Do you mourn over GBWhatsApp's shutdown? Comment your opinion.
