Lenovo Vibe X3 Review: Specifications, Pros and Cons

Lenovo has changed the course of making smartphones. The old brittle A7000, K3 Note are replaced with the good builds. If you had seen their K4 Note, you would have realized the way it evolved. With the addition of VR technology to the performance, Lenovo seems like has focused much on theatre like experience and stressed much on sound.

Vibe X3 has got unexpected response in the market. The phones have disappeared quickly than expected in the stores. Lenovo, itself has admitted the fact that they have not expected this much of response from the customers. So, what might have increased the Lenovo sales? What does this Vibe X3 has got enough to grab the attention? Let’s take a look.

The package comes with the handset along with pre-installed plastic transparent bumper case. It also includes screen guard (not tamper glass), power adapter, SIM/SD card ejector pin, USB cable, standard earphones and manuals.

Design

The Lenovo Vibe X3 is a dual SIM phone with HD speakers to enhance the theatre experience. Designed with 154mm x 76.5mm x 9.3mm (overall thinness) to 3.4mm(thinnest point) and weighing 175gms, Vibe X3 looks stunning in design and more better than Lenovo’s an year old smartphones.

Sporting 5.5 inch screen and HD speakers on the front side, the phone looks to be giving promising sound when kept on a soft surfaces like pillow or bed. Vibe X3 has a metallic bezel around the plastic case which is not new in smartphones design though yet looks good.

On the front side, it also have 8MP camera and proximity sensor.

On the right thumb side it has volume rockers on the top and power button in reach to the thumb. On the top, it has 3.5mm audio jack and IR emitter. On the bottom side, it has the micro USB (not type-C) port. The left side contains the slot for Nano SIM cards.

The back is made of clean and non-glossy material. It has 21MP camera with dual tone flash, NFC, fingerprint scanner with ‘Lenovo’ logo that looks decent.

Display

Lenovo Vibe X3 has 5.5 inch full HD 1080p display with the pixel density of 401ppi and 1780 wide angle lens. The display is 10-point touch display with 100% NTSC color optimization (which is very rare to find on the phone displays these days) and 1500:1 contrast ratio. Multimedia and gaming is a real deal on 1080 displays.

The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and along with that an extra screen guard is given in the package.

Processor, RAM & GPU

Lenovo Vibe X3 is powered with Premium 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor with the support of 3GB LP DDR3 RAM and Adreno 418 GPU that can accelerate 3D graphics up to 600MHz. The chipset is powerful enough to do multi-tasking, heavy gaming and day-to-day usage.

Memory

Lenovo Vibe X3 comes with 32GB eMMC internal storage with an expandability up to 128GB through a microSD card. 32GB is so mainstream these days for the mid-range devices. Having the price of ₹19,999 on its head, Vibe X3’s internal memory is satisfying.

Operating System

Vibe X3 comes with Android Lollipop 5.1 on board with the expected possibility of Android Marshmallow 6.0 upgrade.

Camera

The camera is an interesting module in Lenovo Vibe X3. This device comes with 21MP PDAF rear focus camera with 6piece composite Sony IMX230 sensor and allows 4K Ultra-HD video recording. It has 8MP front camera for high quality selfies.

Vibe X3 is equipped with Gravitational, Proximity, Light and E-Compass sensors for better handling of related applications and games.

Lenovo has taken pretty much taken care of SAR values since the past few models. The SAR values of Lenovo Vibe X3 as noted on the package are 0.55/head and 0.767/body.

Lenovo, this time has brought a good device for the price it is tagged for. The company has not expected bigger response on this device in India and so made it available on Amazon for just ₹19,999 which is ₹5,000 less than the actual price ₹24,999 on the box.
