Best Smartphones Under 10K Rupees Except Lenovo’s (July 2015)

The smartphones are getting smarter and some are only getting smarter virtually where the physical appearance and build quality is getting weaker. It seems like the mobile phone manufacturing companies merely focusing on the software and the chipset features rather than working on the build quality of the devices.

There won’t a best list out there without having the latest Lenovo’s budget handsets, A6000, A6000 Plus, A7000 and K3 Note. But, Lenovo phones lacked built quality overall. The weak plastic back covers and body material look and feel no so cooler than most other phones in the market.

In this article, we are going to take a look at those smartphones with better build quality than Lenovo’s. That’s why, it is named as ‘the non-Lenovo phone best smartphone list’. The following list is not ranked in the same order they are mentioned.

Honor 4C

Huawei’s Honor 4C is a great device at the price range it is available for. It has Kirin Octa-Core 620 processor, 2 GB RAM, 8GB ROM, 5-inch 720P HD display with 13 and 5 MP cameras on the rear and front respectively.

Coming to its design, Honor 4C has a textured back cover and and metal bezel around the phone. It has the physical capacitive buttons on the front and the 5 inch screen looks endless on either sides which looks rather stylish than any of the Lenovo phones. The volume rocker and power buttons are placed on the comfortable position for the right-hand thumb. The device literally weights 162g including the battery.

Overall build quality of the device gives a premium look with its textured plastic covering to this compact phone. If Lenovo is not actually a choice, I’d go for Huawei Honor 4C for my budget under 10K INR.

Microsoft Lumia 640 Dual SIM

Lumia 640 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Quad-Core processor with supportive 1 GB RAM. It has 5-inch 720P display with Clear Black on LCD technology and have an internal memory of 8 GB. It can be expanded up to 128 GB through micro SD card.

If it is about build quality, Microsoft phones always stays in the top 3. If it is about build quality under certain budget, Microsoft Lumias are always on the top. The tech giant never compromises about build quality of the devices. They have got their own stylish way of designing the smartphones.

If you are not considering Lenovo brand as well as Android operating system for your budget of under 10K range, Microsoft Lumia 640 is the best alternative choice.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G

Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 4G is also a good device with great configuration under this budget. It comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Cortex-A7 64-bit processor supported by 2 GB RAM and 8 GB ROM along with 4G LTE support. It has fully laminated IPS HD 720P display with better color-temperature adjustment capacity.

Coming to the build quality, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G was build with glossy finished plastic material that looks good. The neat and clean design gives a decent impression on the first look itself. The metal buttons and premium finishing contributes to the good build quality of the device. It is a good budget choice under 10K INR.

Redmi Note 4G is the best different-brand alternative when it is not Lenovo at all.

YU Yureka Plus

Yu Yureka Plus is the recently announced YU device which is open now for registration on Amazon. It comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit processor, supported by 2 GB DDR3 RAM and 5.5 inch 1080P Full HD display, Cyanogen Mod OS 12 and other Yureka features.

This device comes in two colors, moonstone gray and white with a physical button on the front that reminds us of the iPhone 6 Plus. the poly-carbonate non-fingerprint magnet back cover and poly-carbonate plastic body gives a premium look to the device. The white version looks more appealing than the moonstone gray this time. The build quality very good and touch though.

If you want to grab Yureka Plus for on the next flash sale, pre-register for the sale from this link (redirects to Amazon.in).

Conclusion

All the above smartphones are picked out based on their built quality. As this is not the specifications and performance review, I have listed out only those that comes with better build quality. If specifications and performance are also considered, Lenovo would have got top positions under best five.

Wish this helps you pick one under 10K INR budget.

Feel free to share your thoughts about my pick outs.

  1. Hello brother,
Interesting title I would say. It surely kicks out some judgements.
Nowadays, every phone is powerful in paper. Even some reviewers give high rating to some devices according to their specs. But user friendliness matters more than specs.
I have read a really bad review about Lenovo K3 Note. How can one think that a phone with such specs sucks?
Thank you so much for bringing these phones to us. I think I have to get familiar with the first and last one.
    Thanks again.
    Regards,
    Rahul

  2. Hi Rahul,

No matter how good the specs are, a device must be robust physically too. This is the reason why iPhones are still the top priority for any gadget lover.

Lenovo K3 is a great device specicification wise but, physically it is not stronger. It should have been named as A7000+ rather than K3 Note.

Keep an eye on the facts rather than sticking to the company's boasting phrases like '24 hour battery on mixed usage' like that.

Anyways, good to see you online after a little long while. Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts and knowledge about it.

    Have a good day!!
