How to Create Transparent Backgrounds on Images in Photoshop

Most of the web designers use images with transparent background to make them fit perfectly on the website or the page they are designing.Transparent backgrounds fits in on the web layout without any patchy look. In general the images with transparent backgrounds would be in the format of PNG and it is the optimal format for images to use on the web.

We can create transparent backgrounds using Adobe Photoshop. Any version of the Photoshop can be used to do so as the option exists in all of them. I’ll make you go easy on the tool and at the end you’ll be doing transparent images on your own.

This is the easiest and fastest method to remove background of an image.

Step 3: When it’s done, Click Ctrl+S or go to File > Save, give it a name and choose save file type as PNG(Portable Network Graphics) from the list.

This method takes a lot of time compared to the above method. Though, it would remove the backgrounds much perfect than earlier method.

Step 3: When it’s done, Click Ctrl+S or go to File > Save, give it a name and choose save file type as PNG(Portable Network Graphics) from the list.

Method 3:

This method is also an easier method, but you have to be more careful while doing it. You may lost the part of the image in the process. So, be careful while doing it this way.

Step 1: Choose the Selection Tool of your choice > Drag the Selection on the image.

Step 2: Now choose the Background Eraser Tool of your choice and click or drag on the selection you have made. With this move on the image, you would be able to remove the background with the selection tool itself. To do so, Select an area on the image > press Delete button on the keyboard.

You may choose Lasso Tool to make the selection over the part of the image and delete it using Delete button. The intellectual use of Lasso Tool is that you can make a selection of the part of the image > Right-click on the selection > Select Inverse. This will inverse your selection, thus selecting the rest of the image leaving the required part which is not to be removed. This is the step you have to be careful with. If anything wrong happens use Step Backward(Alt+Ctrl+Z) from Edit menu options.

Now use the Magic Easer Tool over inversely selected part of the image and it will remove the background easily just like that.

Step 3: When it’s done, Click Ctrl+S or go to File > Save, give it a name and choose save file type as PNG(Portable Network Graphics) from the list.

So, this is how you can remove the background and make it transparent over an image in Photoshop. If you have any doubts regarding the processes, please leave a comment and I will try to help you at my best.
