Huawei Honor 4X Review: Specifications, Pros and Cons

Huawei announced a new smartphone Honor 4X with outstanding features in budget price range, tagged with the price of 10,499 INR. Interestingly this new smartphone supports dual SIM(GSM+LTE) unlike its predecessor version Honor 6.

Honor 4X can only be purchased online, from Flipkart through pre-registration. Before you rush to the registration, take a look at the specifications, pros, and cons of the device and make your move.

Branding the name ‘Huawei’, Honor 4x comes packed with regular accessories like data cable, warranty card and a traveller charger along with the handset. It accepts only Micro sized SIM with the support to GSM and LTE kind of networks.

Coming to the physical specifications, it weighs 170g which is really light and is of 8.7mm thinness. This comes in beautiful charcoal black body with light shaded buttons on the side. It looks sleek and beautiful in design and stylish in hand too.

The Honor 4x comes with 5.5 inch IPS HD display which can render the 1280x720 pixels on the screen supporting 16M colors. The hyper-viewing angle will give the best experience watching movies from any angle. One can enjoy watching videos accompanied on this big screen.

Enough with looks. The true power can only be assessed by looking at the muscles of any smartphone. Yeah, I mean the processor and chipset. Honor 4X is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Quad Core processor with 1.2GHz clock speed. The processor is well supported by 2 GB RAM to execute tasks in a blink.

The handset runs on Android v4.4 Kitkat yet where Lollipop 5.1 is rolling out on some devices. The user interface is a customized one, EMUI 3.0 where three newly added home screen buttons help to organize screens easier and better. It has amazing features like smart sleep mode, slide through camera effects, timeline view of gallery items and magazine unlock.

The 8 GB internal memory is a bit disappointing with only 3.7 GB user usability. Though, it can be expanded up to 32 GB through extended microSD cards.

Camera is a must-look-for feature. Honor 4X is equipped with 13MP camera on the back along with LED flash and 5MP camera on the front. The video can record true HD videos of 1920x1080 resolution. Camera specifications fills the tummy well, I think so.

If we talk about the network support, 4G is a big plus for a gadget in 10k INR range. We’ve seen Micromax Yu Yureka in budget range so far in this budget range and you would have know it if you had followed my Micromax’s Yu Yureka review.

Honor 4X comes with powerful 3000mAh battery. This is really surprising to have a battery with stamina. Indeed, a phone with IPS HD display, 1.2GHz processor and 2 GB RAM needs one. Don’t you think?
Pros:
  • Good specifications within budget range
  • 4G LTE network support
  • Good viewing angles
  • Good display
  • Game friendly
  • Powerful battery
  • Quad-code processor with 2GB RAM
  • Good selfie camera
Cons:
  • Large screen which is difficult to fit in pocket
  • Huawei brand
  • Only 3.7 GB usable memory
  • No Gorilla screen

Over to you

If you are looking for a stylish cum powerful phone regardless of the brand value, Huawei Honor 4X is the one. The vividness of the screen is better than any other budget gadget in the market.

If you need a device with a branded logo on the back, small screen and different UI(particularly), you can turn this out and look for some other handset.
