iPhone 6 vs iPhone 6S: What Makes iPhone 6S So Different?

Normal people call it September but, Apple fans call it Apple month. Apple have announced the ‘S’ series of iPhone 6 recently right after an year of releasing it. We couldn’t scribble down the keynote timeline this time for iPhone 6S like as we did for iPhone 6’s release. If you’ve been through our iPhone 6 review in the past, this iPhone 6S review is going to tickle your those memories.

This article is a summarization of the new upgrades that this iPhone 6S have got, compared to its predecessor version. Fasten your seat belts and we’re going in to the Apple theme park.

Design

iPhone 6S and 6S plus are different to iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Both the ‘S’ versions have got little thicker and got some weight. It seems like Apple dedicated some time to iPhone 6 at gym (kidding).

This ‘S’ series iPhone 6 comes in rose gold colored version along with traditional silver, space gray and gold versions. There is no much difference to differentiate physically.

Build quality

The unibody slim design of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus was made up of 6000 series aluminum and this had been more controversial when the phones started to bend. Apple have poured a little upgrade on to the build material with iPhone 6S i.e., it was made up of 7000 series Aluminum-Zinc wrought alloy material which is harder to bend.

More durable glass

Both the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus have HD displays made from strongest glass than before. Apple have brought some kind of rocket making space technology to this version of ‘S’ series iPhone. No wonder, because it comes from Apple.

Faster processor

iPhone 6S get an upgrade to the processor and GPU as well. The A8 64-bit processor is replaced with the new A9 64-bit processor supported by M9 motion coprocessor which is an upgrade to M8 in iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

Better camera

Cameras of iPhones are always interesting. They have become drool worthy since iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Though having 8 MP rear camera, iPhone 6’s iSight camera is great with 1.5 micron pixel photography and amazing slow-motion videography.

The new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus have got an upgrade to the rear-camera with 12 MP with 1.22 micron pixel photography, improved local tone mapping and noise reduction. Apple introduced 4K video recording with the iPhone 6S like never before in Apple’s iPhone history. The slow-motion video capturing is also improved in respect to the two HD recording variants 1080p and 720p.

The front 1.2 MP camera is upgraded to 5 MP with screen flash feature. When taking selfies, screen acts a s flash itself.

Improved Siri

The most lovable digital assistant of Apple products, Siri has been improved on iPhone 6S. The voice interactive software application has been made more smarter and efficient. The innovation of Siri makes iPhone 6S more productive.

Features

Watch the Apple iPhone 6S keynote:

3D touch

iPhone  6S’s screen can now measure the pressure of touch and responds accordingly. The new 3D touch technology on the screen brings up shortcuts of the applications. It gives a sleek preview of the content before opening the application. For example, this helps in previewing the location shared in a chat without being taken out of the application.

You got to put some pressure on the screen now to interact.

Live pictures

iPhone 6S comes with exciting  live picture feature. The 3D touch technology allows the user to set a live wallpaper that freezes the moment of a .gif image while set as a wallpapers or lock screen. When pressed with little pressure, it moves and freezes the animation right the moment the finger goes off-contact to the screen.

Swipe-across multitasking

The software, iOS 9 is improved and new features were added along with the 3D touch technology. You can easily switch among the running applications easily with one swipe across the screen.

Much more

iPhone 6S and 6S Plus are definitely great devices with both hardware and software upgrades. Though there are no noticeable changes from outside, they have got lot of technological upgrades from inside. You can’t feel the difference unless you put your hands on them.
