Ever been a victim of loosing data? Yeah one time or another you would had such feeling. People often worry losing data on mobile phones or tablets. Data in apple products like iPhone, iPad or iPods is data like any other smart phone in the world. The only advantage of smart phones and i-products is that we can get back deleted data using our computers or those devices themselves.

This time there is no such effort being a geek during recovery process. You’ll just have to connect your iPhone/iPad/iPod to your computer, select the module and go through the process.

For recovering your lost data, I introduce to you the familiar tool from ‘EaseUs’ so called ‘Easus Mobi Saver’. This tool available in full-version totally for free.

Recover Deleted Photos From Your Samsung Galaxy S4

The high definition camera in Samsung Galaxy S4 is quite compelling to take photos. Everything is OK until someone somehow deletes the media in any smart phone. Then comes the all worry about how to recover the deleted photos or media files. After a little timed search on the internet, I found a solution for this problem. Let’s take a look at it.

When you delete the files from Galaxy S4, they are not really deleted, more likely they can come alive with a proper recovery software.

Watch the video below & follow accordingly or just proceed reading the textual method.

Step 1: Don't take any new photos until you recover them

Photos and videos captured on Samsung Galaxy S4 are stored on the memory storage, when a delete command is issued to selected files, the android OS doesn't just go to destroy these files, instead, the OS merely label the "deleted" photos or videos as dispensable and frees up the memory these files occupied for storing new files at some point in the future. Before newly captured videos or photos swamp in, the files deleted from Samsung Galaxy S4 can be recovered.

Step 2: Download & install the recovery software on your computer

Download photo recovery for Samsung Galaxy S4. The software is able to recover deleted photos, videos and audio files from Samsung Galaxy S4.

Then the hidden option "Developer Option" will appear, turn on USB debugging. Connect your phone with computer via USB cable.

Step 4: Start Recovering Photos

Start photo recovery for Samsung Galaxy S4. Click on the 'recover photo, audio & media'. A window asking 'Select Media for Recovery' is opened.

Choose the drive letter that represents Samsung Galaxy S4's memory. Click "scan". Use the file type filter to locate the pictures taken with Samsung Galaxy S4 and hit the "Recover" button.

Restoring Apps & Settings from Backup in Windows 8

Restoration of PC involves 2 scenarios, when windows start and when windows doesn’t starts. Let’s see how the restoration is done in the both scenarios.

Restoring a system image when Windows starts

Restoring a system image requires Windows to rewrite all the data on your system disk. Therefore, it can’t be done when Windows is running. To restore a system image, you need to launch the Windows 8 advanced startup options.

You can start the Windows 8 advanced startup options in several different ways. If Windows still starts normally, you can:
● Select the General page within PC Settings, and then click the very last button: Restart Now under Advanced Startup.
● Hold down the Shift key while you choose to restart the PC.

Configure Windows to show startup options to launch the StartupIf you’re an old-school Windows user, you like to be able to start in Safe Mode or to enable debugging options at startup, and you’re using a keyboard, run this command at an administrator command prompt.

Bcdedit /set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu yes

Once you run that command, Windows displays a start menu for 30 seconds before starting. Press Enter to start Windows sooner, or press F8 to display the Startup Settings page. To start the recovery environment, press F10 from that page, and then press F1.

Restoring a system image when Windows doesn’t start

If Windows won’t start and does not prompt you to automatically repair it, you need to launch the advanced startup options using a CD or USB flash drive and then restore the system image. If you can’t restore the system image, it’s possible your disk has failed and needs to be replaced.

If you can’t start Windows 8, launch advanced startup options using one of these techniques:

● If the recovery partition is still accessible, Windows will display advanced startup options automatically.

● If your PC has UEFI firmware, use the PC’s BIOS settings to select the advanced
startup options.

● Start your PC from a system recovery disc or recovery drive.

Recover Data from USB Drive Affected with Shortcut Virus

A very large number of computers are affected by the USB viruses when plugged in. Not all viruses can be deleted totally even by the top antivirus software. Antivirus software may detect the virus but can’t delete it from USB drive. One such frustrating virus is well known ‘shortcut virus’. When ever the USB affected with shortcut virus, every piece of data in it is shown as shortcut and it will not be opened. In case if it opens, it affects the system also there by spreading the virus to every USB plugged in to it.

Short cut virus in USB

Where has the data gone?

The data will exits in your USB drive. DO NOT FORMAT THE DRIVE AT ANY COST, YOU NEVER BE ABLE TO GET YOUR DATA BACK. Shortcut virus is considered as prank played to frighten people by showing useless shortcuts instead of data. Actually, the data is hidden in the drive, We’ll just have to unhide the data. Let’s take a look the following process to unhide the data using command prompt.

Recovering Data

Recovering the data is the hard part when it comes to shortcut virus. You may think using a data recovery software, you can easily bring back your data from your drive. You may bring your data back until there is data detected by the recovery software. Probably it can’t.

Follow this procedure I have come across in recovering the data without any harm to it from the affected USB drive.

Step 1: Press ‘Windows button + R’. This will bring up the ‘run’ command prompt. Type ‘cmd’ and press ‘Enter’. ‘Command prompt’ will be opened.

Step 2: Carefully type attrib -h -r -s /s /d j:\*.* and press ‘Enter’. ( ‘j’ is my USB drive in my case).

Or else, type j: and press ‘Enter’. (remember ‘j’ is USB drive here). You will enter in to your USB drive. Now type the following attrib -h -r -s /s /d *.*

Step 3: Then open your USB drive. You may find the shortcuts separated from the original data. Copy your data and save it another location in your hard drive or desktop.

Step 4:  Check you data once if you could recover the entire or only some of it.

You’re done!

What happened in command prompt?

The command prompt isn’t a wizard to do this which your best ant viruses can’t. It is the hidden feature of windows family. The ‘attrib’ is the attribute command which is used to add or remove attributes to a files in a drive or folder. The parameters

-h     removes the hidden attribute for the files.
-r     removes the read-only attribute for the files.
-s     removes the system file attribute.
/S     processes matching files in the current folder and sub folders.
/D     processes folders as well.

j:\*.*  refers all files with all extensions from the USB drive.

By the way, Congratulations for recovering your data! Comment your thanks if you like this post!
