BLU Pure XR Review: Specifications, Price, Pros & Cons

The BLU has released a new phone, Pure XR for $299 with interesting hardware and software specifications. The phone looks great, well metallic built and has moderate powerful SoC along with some iconic 3D touch feature on the Android platform. This phone is a dual SIM phone and comes with three major network carriers, T-Mobile, AT&T and Metro PCS. Let’s take a quick look into BLU Pure XR.

BLU Pure XR package comes with a silicon protective back cover, ear phones with buds, USB to Typc-C connector cable, type-c USB with detachable charger unit, SIM ejector tool, screen protector and some manual guides.



The BLU Pure XR is a metallic built with curved touch panel. The font panel has the front camera, fingerprint sensor in the home button along with the backlit navigation keys. On the back it has sandstone finished metallic back panel along with camera accompanied by the dual tone flash. The diamond cut chamfered and mirror like polish enhances the premium look of the phone.



BLU Pure XR comes with 5.5 inch AMOLED FHD 1080p display that is spread over 400 pixels per inch. The curved display on the above gives a good touch experience. The display is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The touch panel supports the pressurized 3D touch like as the iPhone 6S had.


BLU Pure XR has MediaTek P10 Octa-Core SoC that runs at 2.0GHz clock speed which is supported by the 4GB RAM making the multitasking a breeze. On the top end, the Android Marshmallow operating system gives the intuitive UI experience in multitasking.


BLU Pure XR comes with the huge 64GB internal memory giving no scope to the storage complaints. This is more than a fair deal for a phone of $300.


The camera module in XR is the big deal. It has 16MP PDAF rear camera with 6P lens and laser focus which is accompanied by the dual-tone LED flash. The front camera is a 8MP shooter with f/1.8 aperture. The BLU’s final touch software will help to make selfies more beautiful.


Pure XR has 3,000mAh Li-ion battery along with 9V/2A charger. One single complete charge can standout one full day on average usage, 12 hours on moderate usage and 6 hours on heavy usage. The typical screen-on time would be 4-5 hours on this device.
